I sure could use an extra arm

How about you?

It's a shame they want to remove arm #3. I think it would really come in, um, handy ;-)

What a cutie!!

Aaaah, Summer

Summer came and knocked us over the head this weekend. And boy was it lovely!

Friday I worked half day, at home. Then off to the gym. And then off to dine on burritos and cheap n yummy margaritas at Benny's Burritos with my hubby. Met up with Henry and walked around so he could eat. Stopped at some place on 8th Ave and lo and behold who was standing right outside the window? None other than my favorite actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman! Boy was I excited. He looked sloppy as always but hell, that's his right. He's PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN for goodness sake!

Saturday hubby and I had a wonderful brunch at my fav place Sarabeth's, followed by some shopping at Home Depot & Bed, Bath & Beyond, followed by fixing up the apt a bit. Poor David fell down and went boom and hurt his privates while trying to put up curtains. But he survived. As did the goods.

Sunday met up w/ Kelly & Joel in Brooklyn at the Havana Outpost. Mmmmm, corn, cuban sandwiches and frozen, yes FROZEN mojitos. Music was blasting and it was hard to hear but so nice to be sitting outside in the Summer air. Afterwards we walked over to see X3. I liked it. I probably liked it the least of the 3 but it was still really enjoyable. I just love seeing everyone's individual powers. I didn't care for Phoenix but whatever, at least I got to see my sweetie Wolverine. And nice an beefy at that!

Monday was our day to do nothing. Woke up late. David made a great little picnic basket and we went to Central Park to lay around and relax. Played some backgammon, ate some cheese. Just lovely.

Oh how I love Summertime.

Summer Blues

I love Summer, I really do. But I am so sad all my shows have ended. What to do? Lost, American Idol, Survivor and Amazing Race. These are my shows. I do not miss them for anything. These are the bread and butter of my evenings.

Of course I'm so happy Taylor won last night. Caught the last half hour which is all I needed to because I saw my man Prince! and then the ending-WOOOOOO! Poor Catherine. Oh well, maybe you shouldn't have chosen those crappy songs. Still, her voice is so pure and beautiful, it won't go to waste. But didn't Prince look HOT! And that first song was great, reminiscent of his older songs. He...pretty.

Lost was great. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though it left us with more questions than answers, it was awesome. Desmond's story was very interesting. Learned more about the mysterious 'button'. I knew it! That's all I have to say in case some of you haven't seen it yet. I know people say that if they don't get answers soon they'll lose interest. I feel the opposite will happen. I like the questions, the mysteries, seeing Sawyer and Jack shirtless. Bring it on!

Wooooooo!!

Wooo!

American Idol was pretty damn boring last night. I don't know if it was the lame song choices or the fact that Chris should be there instead of one of them. But either way I am routing for Taylor tonight. He's got soul, he's got a great attitude and he's just so likeable.

Go Taylor go! WOooooo!

On another note, I can't WAIT for the season finale of Lost. Let's hope it's not dissapointing. I have a feeling it won't be.

Oh, and a Happy Birthday to my favorite Brother-in-Law Matthew! : )

Recap

So let's see...what have I done recently to blog about?

*Well last week I cried exactly three times watching TV...

-Once when Taylor sang "You are so Beautiful" on American Idol
-Again when Walt told Michael "I love you" while being dragged away on Lost
-And yet again when the hippies, my favorite pair EVER, won The Amazing Race

Yes, I'm a big sappy mess sometimes, well, a lot of times.

*My ex-boyfriend found me on myspace recently. So strange. I never thought to look for him. Or for most people actually. So, so long ago I knew him. So long that I feel incredibly old when I think about it...seventeen years ago. Yeesh!

*I have been running my ass off, or trying to at least, around Central Park or the gym as I have gained 10 lbs with the pregnancy then the depression of the loss, as well as not being able to run until the Dr gave me the ok. Which he did 3 weeks ago. So for 2 weeks now I have been running. A lot. My clothes WILL fit again. And soon dammit.

*Matthew was dog sitting the sweetest Weimeraner this weekend. I am in love with Maxie. Met up with him and Chris in the dog run on Saturday and gave him bottled water and walked him on the leash. Instant attraction. Damn I wish I could get a dog. But the cats and my reluctance to walk it and pick up poopies would get in the way. As Matthew walked away with Maxie and we parted, Maxie kept looking back at me with sadness in his eyes. I felt like I was going to cry. Again.

Got home to catch the Preakness. And once again, cried. How unbelievably sad it was to watch the amazing Barbaro fall apart before our very eyes. Good luck Barbaro. We are all thinking about you!

*Sunday we went to the Ninth Avenue International Food Fair. Even with the rain plenty of people were there eating. And we were right along there with them. Tasty english sandwiches at Peter's of London, AMAZING chili and ribs at Spanky's, yummy $1 lemonade everywhere, warm spinach pies at Poseidon as well as freshly made baklava and cookies. It's funny, we NEVER go to Poseidon bakery until the food fair.

Afterwards we hung out at Henry's and then met the famiily at a Turkish restaurant for Matthew's birthday meal. Though full from the food fair the little bit I tasted was yummy and the Cosmo I had even yummier.

*Now I am home sick. Felt very rundown this morning and couldn't sleep. Felt I needed a day to sleep and get better before thngs got worse.

Oh how I love daytime television : )

Sushi Seki

On Saturday night Eric took us out for David's belated birthday to Sushi Seki. He promised it would be a new sushi experience.

We went for the omakase menu. Omakase means trust in Japanese. Basically you are trusting in the chef to prepare for you the very best selection. Basically the waitress would keep bringing us rounds of sushi until we said when. Let me tell you, we NEVER wanted it to end.

The sushi was divine. I can't even classify it as sushi as it tasted like something completely different and totally new. The waitress would bring out three things at a time. Baby squid, amazingly fresh toro, several types of super fresh n' tasty fish, scallops, shrimp, oysters, and a variety of other things I've never had. Everything was brought out with a special little sauce on top, or a special salt, or just something so delicious that made it unique. But the piece de resistance was the sea urchin. OH. MY. GOD. Heavenly. Just heavenly.

While the place is pricey, it was SO worth it. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a special meal out. Just be sure to make reservations first : )

Travesty of a Mockery of a Sham!

WTF happened on American Idol tonight?? This show is BULLSHIT! Chris was the best thing to ever happen to this damn show. Dare I say it he may even be better than my beloved Bo. Who the hell can vote for that wuss Elliott over Chris? Besides a world more talent Chris is the finest thing to ever walk that stage!

BAH!

Allergies Schmallergies

Hm, haven't posted in a while. Let's see. After much sweaty palms and racing heartbeats I was able to score two, count em TWO Radiohead tickets for their show here in June. Now the seats aren't together. But I am going. And Celvyn is going! Dave was kind enough to let him go in his place (actually, he didn't care to go) so we're in! At first I thought the seats were just two rows from each other, but after looking at the seating chart we are actually on opposite ends of the venue. Oh well, at least we will be there instead of being at home crying. Woohoo for me!

Saturday we rented a car and went out to Mike & Jeff's lovely weekend house upstate for the annual Kentucky Derby get together. When we left NYC it was nearing 70 degrees. When we arrived there, about 55. WTF? Still pretty. But my allergies took hold of me and pretty much ruined my day. I had to hide inside in misery : ( My horse Sinister Minister didn't even win. Oh well, at least the company was good.

Sunday woke up feeling so bad that I had to skip the Five Boro Bike Tour. Dammit. At least Matthew got to use my bike instead of Shaina's small n' heavy one. Met up with them for beer & wings after to get out of the house a bit.

Monday I went to the Dr pronto and got some allergy medicine. Went to CVS to fill my prescription. I told them I need the Clarinex D NOW so please have it ready in 30 minutes. Went back, and, with a suspicious eye, was told by the pharmacist that they don't have it. Ok, so when are you getting it in? Oh, we don't have that. Why do you need it? You have two prescriptions, one for Clarinex and one for Clarinex D? I don't understand why you can't just take the Clarines. Hmmmmmm?
WTF??? Um, I don't need the third degree. I just need my medicine. I will just go elsewhere. Finally got it filled at lovely Duane Reade and started feeling better soon after taking it. Not 100%, but not the 0% I was feeling before I took it either.

Met up with Gramma and Aneesha who came into the city for the day. Boy I think we wore Gramma out. Subways, cabs, buses, we did it all. Aneesha is still here hanging out until tomorrow.

And I still feel crappy :(

L00MAR

Busy day at work. My friend/co-worker Ana had her baby today. Of all days for me to leave my cell phone at home, I choose the day she gives birth. So I missed the live updates-

10:56AM "In the hospital, 3cm dialated :-)",
followed by a beautiful picture sent RIGHT after the birth at 2:34PM
then at 3:38PM "7lbs 6oz 20 inches"

Oh how I love instant technology. Still don't know his name. But all I needed to know was that mother and baby were safe and sound.

Looking to go on a trip again soon. Soon meaning this month. David doesn't think we should go. But that doesn't matter. He says this everytime, but once we get there, he's all smiles and thanks me for making him go. So, where to go? I want sun, sand and sea. But I also want good food, so no DR. I find it so hard to decide. Just afraid to pick something that could turn out to be crappy. I don't know what I'm so worried about though.

Pressed the NEXT BLOG button on top of my blog tonight and found L00MAR. Found her very interesting. At least I think it's a her. At first I thought it was a guy, just because there was mention of grilling and mowing the lawn. Then there was mention of a boyfriend, so I'm thinking now it's a girl. But it could be someone who is gay. I also assume this person is in the south. Mentions of how hot it is down there makes me think that. I also thought at first he/she must be very young, based on the style of writing. But then there was mention of driving a car, buying groceries and working. Funny how one assumes things just by a few words.
