Latest Sonogram

We had the second ultrasound today. We got a different tech which I was happy about and although the baby still refused to turn, they were able to get a good enough image of the spine for me not to return. At least we hope they did! At least this tech did her share of jiggling and even made me turn over to each side to see if he/she turns. So here's the latest pics, which I think are much better than last time. No video this time though!

Look at the perfectly shaped round head and cute little ear. We can't wait to see it in person.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!

This thing IS fun. After playing Zelda for 12 hours straight (working in between fishing) we now put in the Wii Sports that comes with the console and it's awesome! I've never laughed so hard watching David physically PLAY tennis. The controller is amazing and you have to literally move your arms and swing! I think he's already broken a sweat after only a few minutes! Nintendo has really outdone itself with this great inventive game! I highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a new kind of gaming.

Wiikend

How am I gonna get myself a Nintendo Wii this weekend? I'm not preordered anywhere because, well, I'm an idiot. So now I have to plan to get up early Sunday morning and find a store that might possibly have one. I have been waiting for the Wii, and, more importantly, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for years now. So many promises of Zelda coming out, so many delays and dissapointments.

If someone gets me one I will name my first born after you.

Inside & Out

Today we had our 2nd trimester (19 wks) 'Anatomic Survey' ultrasound!

And here's my belly shot taken Tuesday. I'm getting BIG!

Click here to watch the short video of our Baby Monkey!

I don't love the ultrasound techs at the hospital. I mean, they are nice enough, but it seems like as soon as I layed down she squeezed the jelly on my belly and was already doing her survey. I thought-whoa lady, slow down. This ultrasound I must admit was dissapointing. The last one the images were taken further away, and I could see the whole baby. This time around everything was REALLY close up, most of the time I had no clue what she was doing and had to squint at the screen to see what she typed in (aorta, bladder, femur, upper arms, etc). I felt she should've been a little nicer and explained things as we had to keep saying "What's that?" and she'd say it and quickly move on to the next. I know she has a job to do, but, seeing the pics of her adorable children on the wall, she must know that as first time parents this is very exciting for us and a little more explanation couldn't hurt. Still, seeing the baby on screen is so amazing!

So this is the best pic we got. We also bought a DVD which has all the images plus one quick video, and, best (or worst) of all the sex of the baby on it! But David has forbidden me to peek. And, because I'm so damn honest, I just couldn't do it! It's killing me but I have to go by what we agreed to.

The tech said everything looked ok BUT, we have to go back again because my tired little baby monkey wouldn't turn over to give her a clear view of the spine! The tech made me cough, which didn't make sense to me, but she never really jiggled it around as the last tech had done. SO we are going back in two weeks to get the spine images. Not that I mind. Who doesn't want to see their baby? Hopefully we'll get the tech we had the first time around as she was a little better and knew how to jiggle the baby into the direction she wanted.

In da House!

WOW what an election night. It's so amazing how divided this country still is. Obviously there are people who want change but what about all those duds that are (I feel) too scared? I am so totally thrilled the Dem's won the House, and that a woman will finally, for the first time in US HISTORY be Speaker of the House! When I heard the news I became so emotional. I don't know much about Nancy Pelosi but this is just giving me, and so many others, hope that maybe things will (slowly) be on a road to change.

Now the senate race. Whew! Crazy crazy stuff. Luckily I'm working from home today so I will be glued to the TV.

And for those of you who need to brush up on just exactly what the House and Senate does and how a bill is created (like myself), click here : )

Obsession

I know I haven't been blogging lately. Probably because all waking hours that aren't spent at work are spent online looking at baby stuff! Every chance I get I'm looking at bedding, cribs, and info on babies. I'm obsessed! And what really stinks is I still haven't the perfect crib and bedding. I'm finding it so difficult to find something gender neutral that I like. The set on the left has the colors I like, but still not perfect. Or is it? We really don't even need to buy crib bedding until the baby is born, but I just want a set that I like so we can then decide on crib/wall color. I don't even know why I bother looking online, because things are so different in person. I know I will ultimately decide when I see items in the store. But it helps to pass the time since TV this season seems to suck.

I'm feeling good. No movements yet. At night I lay in bed and concentrate to see if I feel even the slightest hint of a movement. Last night I thought I felt something. But I think I just wanted to feel it so much that I mistook stomach gurglings for movement. Or maybe not. Who knows. I sure don't-I'm new at this!

Today we're going to Central Park to watch the marathon and see a friend of mine run it. It's crazy how fast everyone passes us and how difficult it is to spot him, but David always sees him and we yell a quick HELLO and he's gone. Those people amaze me. I used to think about doing one, but then I thought 'Am I crazy?' and came back to reality.

Ok, off to look up more baby stuff.
