FROM THE CURE OFFICIAL WEBSITE:

North American Fall 2007 Cure shows re-scheduled for Spring

8/24/2007 5:58:28 AM

With all apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment it may cause, we have made a decision to move the September/October 2007 North American Cure shows to April/May 2008.

The schedule as it stands only gives us a couple of weeks to finish our new double album before we hit the road again, and we know this just isn’t enough time to complete the project to our total satisfaction.

Although this last month’s tour of Australasia showed that a great Cure show is not dependent on a new Cure album, it has to be remembered that we hadn’t played Australia for 7 years, New Zealand for 15 years, Japan for 23 years(!), and Singapore or Hong Kong ever before – so the absence of ‘new’ songs in the set was not really much of an issue.

However, we want to remodel/rework the live show for North America, change things around, incorporate new songs… and we need time and focus to do this.

So although we can agree it is a great shame to move these dates – believe us we have been looking forward to them more than anyone! – and know there will be a lot of disappointed people out there, we honestly feel that in the bigger picture we are making the right decision.

All tickets held for all 2007 North American Cure shows will be valid for the re-scheduled 2008 shows, and of course anyone who seeks a refund will be able to get one.

All validity/refund/rescheduling details will be announced as soon as we have them.

We are still going to headline the San Francisco Download Festival October 6th, and we will still be performing at the MTV Latin America Awards October 18th.

We will also play the three scheduled Sports Palace Mexico City shows October 20th/21st/22nd, as by this point we feel sure we will have finished the new album, and will be more than happy to start dropping a fresh song or three into the set each night…

Once again, our genuine apologies to anyone who is upset by this announcement - please be encouraged by our promise:

The Spring 2008 Cure shows will be even better than the Fall 2007 ones would have been!!!

See you all soon…
Love

Happy Anniversary To US

Four years ago today I married my favorite person in the world. The photo at the top of my blog shows the place where it all happened. The weather was sublime, everyone who we wanted to witness this event was there, and their love and joy surrounded us and made the day complete. And now we have our darling baby Sophie to make things even more perfect. I could not ask for more in life. I am so truly lucky.

Nanny

So I have reluctantly begun my search for a nanny for Sophie. September is fast approaching and I will be going back to work. I don't actually go into the office until October, but better to start the search sooner than later. That way I will be home to oversee the nanny for a week or two before leaving Sophie alone with her.

I posted an add in Craigslist last night and within an hour had about 15 responses. And they keep coming. A majority of them are students or recent graduates, and most have impressive letters and resumes. But I do wonder about a student, I mean obviously they didn't go to college to be a nanny, so I would think that eventually they'd move on to bigger and better things, no? But then again someone young will be more energetic.

So now I have to weed out the good from the bad and start interviewing.

How am I going to leave my precious baby Sophie? Luckily I will be working 3-4 days a week in the office which means 1-2 days at home.

Ugh, this sucks.

Miami

So I've been remiss in posting lately. Been busy visiting Miami, getting the flu, returning to NY with my nephew in tow, and getting a big ass plasma 50" TV. Yeah, it's been an eventful week!

Sophie was really good on the flight to Miami. On Friday evening we decided to go to the beach, as the weather was RIDICULOUSLY hot during the day we thought it best for Sophie's and our sake to go when the sun is on it's way down and the temp a bit cooler. She actually liked the beach! Well, she didn't cry-which to us means she liked it. PersonallyI think she was so amazed at the colors and vastness of the ocean that she didn't even notice the water splashing up on her. Next day we headed to my friend Maria's house and ventured into her swimming pool with Sophie. Once again we think she liked it. No crying, no fussing, just staring in awe at the pool water and the surroundings. Then things went bad. I had a glass of wine while swimming around and suddenly felt ill. Got out of the pool and things rapidly declined. Exhaustion, lethargy, chills, nausea. Went home and quickly realized I had the flu. The flu of all things! And in the Summer. Damn plane. I'm sure that's where I picked it up. So I spent the rest of the trip in bed moaning and groaning.

Sunday my Brother and nephews came over and I did what I could to spend time with them but overall I felt really crappy. We celebrated his and my birthday and my nephew Brandon had 2 Dairy Queen ice cream cakes made for us. Delicious.

Came back on Monday night after FOUR HOURS of delays at the airport. Spirit Air is such a mess. My nephew Brandon came back with us for the week and was a big help as I was still sick most of the time. Felt better on Thursday and immediately we went to pick out my TV. I decided on the Panasonic 50" TH-50PX77U per reviews from CNET. It arrived on Friday afternoon and I must say I am in love! It is SO beautiful. It's like watching TV for the first time. Real TV. How did we ever watch anything on that tiny 27" set we had all these years? The HD channels are amazing, especially watching movies. Everytime we turn it on we are amazed at the clarity and brilliant colors. Well worth the wait.

On Saturday we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge for some yummy Grimaldi's pizza and spent some time laying in the park and enjoying the weather and the view.

Here are some pics from the past couple of weeks. All of Sophie of course. She turned 4 months yesterday!

Birfday weekend

I had a lovely birthday weekend. Our cousin Tricia decided to visit for the weekend which was such a nice treat! On Friday Eric took David and I out to delish sushi at Sushi Yasuda. Top of the line sushi with so many types of salmon, tuna, yellowtail, etc. We got the Omikase menu which is basically allowing the chef to choose our meal. The waiter was a funny Japanese guy with crazy hair and a thick Japanese accent. The tastiest thing we tried was THREE types of sea urchin and the piece de' resistance was what was described to us as "scallop guts", although I don't remember the Japanese name. It was really nice to get out and spend some time sans Sophie.

On Saturday we had a get together at the Bohemian Beer Garden in Astoria. It was nice getting there early and getting a prime spot and food n' beer quickly. Sure as hell beats the last time we were there where I waited over TWO HOURS for food. Lots of friends came and David took care of Sophie all day to give me a break which was nice too : ) I love me some Spaten and schnitzel.

On Monday we walked through Central Park with my husband and daughter and had lunch at the Loeb Boathouse in the middle of the park. It was hot as hell and the lake gave off a nasty stench, but luckily the restaurant didn't smell bad. Afterwards we walked home and I got myself a mani/pedi in preparation for our trip to Miami tomorrow. I hate getting them. I just get so bored sitting there by myself. Luckily I talked to my friend Maria so I didn't feel so lonely. Came home to chill and Matthew came by with my birthday gift-Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's. Yessss! Since he was here we asked if he could babysit and we went off to dinner, just the two of us. I think it was the only time the two of us have been out together alone since she arrived. Crazy.

For my bday David said I have the choice between a beautiful bracelet OR a plasma tv. Yeah, we all know which one I picked. And next week when we return from Miami I'll be getting that puppy delivered and FINALLY enjoying some HDTV on my new 50" screen. Aaaah, the life.
