Date Day

Today was our "date day". Shaina came over to watch Sophie and gave us each an hour massage at the place of our choice. We started off with bagel sandwiches at Lenny's, then took the bus down to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at the only theatre still playing it in Manhattan. Got there for the last of the trailers and immediately noticed the main center speaker cutting on and off. We complained as did others and nothing was done. Then the movie started and the sound mess continued, so David went to complain again and they said they were working on it. About 15 minutes into the movie the lights turned on and the movie was brought to a screeching halt. An usher appeared and said they ar aware of the problem and will offer us free tickets if we want to leave or we can stay and also get free tickets. Um, yeah, we'll stay. This is the first movie we've seen in six months and I'll be damned if I miss it! Luckily the speaker did fix itself and we were able to hear the rest of the movie. Not a good thing though, as the movie totally SUCKED. Now, I've read the book, I know the story, but I still had no idea what the hell was going on! It was a jumbled mess of one to two minutes cut scenes that made no sense. Terrible dialogue, poor use of the main characters, major plot points changed or left out completely. Bah, what a screw up. It felt like a long trailer of snipets of a movie. And I think this guy is directing the next one too. Damn, damn shame.

Afterwards David and I walked down Broadway holding hands. I realized that this is the first time we've held hands since Sophie was born! One of us is usually pushing the stroller. It actually felt kind of strange. But also very nice. It's been quite awhile since it was just the two of us.

We then headed over for our massages at Graceful Spa. We were set up in a couple room and had wondeful one hour full body massages. Here they use all their body parts to massage. Hands, elbows, knees. They even get up on the table! But very relaxing with soothing music, nice hot towels afterwards. Just lovely. Thank you Auntie Shaina!

We finished off with mussels, fries and yummy Chimay beer at Bruxells in the Village with Shaina and Sophie. Yummy stuff.
