While we had watched footage live as it was happening a year ago, this was an all too vivid reminder of how our government failed these people again and again and again. It's atrocious how they were given no respect whatsoever and treated less than animals. Such a damn shame. It just makes you sick.

Happy Anniversary to us!

Happy 3rd anniversary to me and David! We will be celebrating together over a nice dinner tonight and relive the memories of our wonderuful wedding week together. I still can't get over how amazing it was to be with all of our friends and family and the amount of work everyone put into it to make it a success. Oh what a joyous time!

Back from the Block

Had an amazing time. Still in denial that we are back to the real world. But the sirens, smog and traffic lights quickly reminded us that we're home. Not that home is a bad place to be, but it sure aint my beloved Block Island. Here are some photos for now, too tired to post about the trip but we had a spectacular house that we shared with amazing friends. Such a special place to us all.

Nephews in the city

The week with my nephews is almost coming to a close. Very sad. It's been lots of fun. And it's all passed by so very fast. I will upload photos later. Here is one of Conrad at the Museum of Natural History and Brandon on my fire escape.

On Their Way

My nephews should be on their way now to the Big HOT Apple. Going to meet them at the airport. Got the special 'OK' to pick them up at the gate as they are under 18. Sucks that it's going to be another 100 degree day but come tomorrow we should be mild and comfortable.

We have a loose plan. Today, stay as cool as possible by doing indoor stuff. Tomorrow evening, Coney Island. The rest of the week? We will see.

Can't wait to spend some quality and quantity time with them.

Baptism Birthday

For the earlier part of Sunday we rented a car and drove out to S Jersey for our Goddaughter Lola's christening. The church was small and the service sweet and simple. Lola loved getting all of the attention and didn't cry one bit. She's such a sweet angel.

Afterwards we went back to their house for lunch and they surprised me with a birthday cake!


Drove back to the city and had a lovely dinner at the awesome Mermaid Inn. The lobster sandwhich was the BEST I've ever had. Buttery light roll, huge chunks of lobster meat. Mmmm MMMM! And then a Fudgie the Whale cake to end it all. Perfecto!

Thanks everyone for all your birthday wishes. It was so nice to hear from and spend time with so many great friends :)
