Memorial Day at Riverside Park

Mii Fit? I think not.

I got my Wii Fit yesterday. Of course right off my plans to do this when I get home from work were crushed when Sophie took over and claimed it as her own. If I just stepped on it she cried in anger!

Once she went to bed, we had a go at it. Immediately we were impressed. I just love how sensitive and accurate the Wii board is. The weight was right on (unfortunately) and my lack of balance was immediately apparent. My Wii Fit age? 47. Yes, 47. I lean too much to the left. Dave leans too much to the right. But, we will fix it. Oh yes wii will.

We only played with it for a half hour or so but already I could feel my upper back aching a little. Proof it was doing something. We sampled some yoga, balance exercises, and aerobics. The running in place is hilarious. You have to follow a mii friend down a trail. As you run all your mii friends cheer you on! Hey Celvyn, you look great! I've given myself 2 months to reach my goal. Let's see if I get there.

Mother's Day

Had a wonderful Mother's Day. While it was not my first Mother's Day, it definitely felt like my first. Last year Sophie was a month old and I was a frantic, distraught, over tired mess. This year I'm a pro! Or at least I feel like one.

Spent the weekend out on LI enjoying the company of David's family and my Mom who flew up for the weekend. Had a nice brunch, beautiful cards and some really nice gifts! Shaina gave me a personlized photo album of Sophie's first year that she created herself using Snapfish. Really, really nice. David gave me a Bliss gift card, a gift I was secretly hoping for ;-) And my Mom gave me a beautiful beaded necklace. I also got some earrings and a blouse. It's like a second birthday! I love this Mother's Day thing!

Went to the park with the family for a little while and it was so nice watching the family watch Sophie explore. She of course had a great time climbing the stairs and going down the slide. And while she really wanted to go into the tunnel, she just couldn't muster up enough courage to do so. Maybe next time.

Teeth

My nanny Beverly called me at work this morning. Lately Sophie has been getting up pretty late in the morning, and skipping her afternoon nap. I must admit I like it when she wakes late when I want to sleep in, but when I am leaving for work by 8:30, I do wish I could see her before I go. Anyhoo, Beverly called me and said "Did you know Sophie has teeth?". What????? I was working from home yesterday, and even though she spent most of the day at the park with David and Uncle Andy, I think I would have noticed some teeth! I couldn't wait to come home and see. We've been waiting so long for teeth to come up, that it's turned into a huge event here. And sure enough, I came home and felt around for 2 little teeth that have poked through the bottom of her mouth just in the last day or two. Best part is there was no teething pain!

Now she is trying to bite me. Ouch!
